Day 03 - Tue - 11/04/2025 - At Sea to Funchal - Day 2

This day found us waking up to dark and stormy seas.  Angela got up early enough to attend the 8:45 Bible study.  I awakened in time for the 10am port talk by Susan Beard about Funchal & Tenerife but missed breakfast.  She is a great presenter and was our shore excursion presenter on the Majestic Princess cruise last year from Sydney to Seattle.

Following lunch was a Behind the Seas interview with 4 of senior hotel staff with Matt, our Cruise Director.  These interviews will be held throughout our voyage.  During lunch, the Captain gave the daily weather and position briefing and I find it comforting to hear the Captain's consistent voice each day in a non-emergency setting.

For much of the afternoon I relaxed in our room and caught up on YT videos. Our evening entertainment was a packed schedule.  It was packed so much that we ate dinner separately as Angela wanted to see the comedian Josh Daniels at 5:15pm because of her schedule conflict at 8:30pm when I was free to see it.

We both caught the 7pm special show presented by Imagine Cruising featuring Harry Redknap, an English football (soccer) player and coach.  He played for the initial Seattle Sounders team before having a long career as an English football Coach.  Now in his late 70's he's a speaker and seemed comfortable sharing stories from his career.  Much of it made no sense as I don't follow English football. I did look up and read his bio online.

I enjoyed Josh Daniels at 8:30pm in the Princess Theater.  He's comedian who also plays a small electronic guitar and his humor was fairly clean.  Afterwards I joined Angela in the Vista Lounge for a Big Band song set by Matthew Stott who's an activity staff member.  This show was added due to the added port days.  He was really good and was an West End performer.

I retired to the room and was under the covers when Angela arrived after midnight following another hour of karaoke.  Have I mentioned that she likes it?

Tomorrow is our last sea day before 5 consecutive port days.
